- For Adjunct: Spring Trimester (April – June, 10 weeks), Wednesdays 9-12 and 1-4
- For Full time Institute Faculty (September 1 – June 30): Fall (13 weeks), Winter (13 weeks), and Spring (10 weeks) Trimesters
Qualifications: A doctoral degree emphasizing scientific expertise and/or research experience in the areas of developmental bases of behavior. (See below.)
Salary: $3,683 - $8,165. Competitive, based on years of experience.

Position Overview:
The Lifespan Development Instructor will be responsible for teaching a fundamental component of the Foundations Series within the Clinical Psychology Program at the Wright Institute. Primary topics include the changing nature of individual experience across the lifespan and the interaction of physiological, cognitive, emotional, and sociocultural factors. The course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the scientific aspects of developmental psychology, focusing on the adaptation of this discipline-specific knowledge toward the biopsychosocial practice of clinical psychology.
Instructors seeking a full-time, tenured track faculty position and are also qualified and willing to teach a year-long sequence of courses including research methods, statistics, tests and measurements, and a course involving the guidance of doctoral students in preparing a pre-dissertation prospectus are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants for full-time faculty who can chair dissertation committees is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain updated course curriculum, develop rubrics for determining student achievement, and maintain a syllabus in our web-based portal that includes reading/multimedia lists, weekly student expectations and class lecture topics
- Annually teach two sections of the Lifespan Development course and for those seeking full-time, teaching one section each of the Research Methods, Statistics, Tests and Measures, and Prospectus Development courses. Full-time faculty are expected to teach a total of 8 courses per academic year. Confer with other section instructors to ensure consistency in course topics (not content).
- Student Engagement: Foster an engaging and supportive learning environment, encouraging student participation and facilitating discussions that enhance understanding of the material.
- Evaluation: Providing timely student feedback in order to support student success. Customize and administer our template course evaluation forms to provide feedback regarding student achievement.
- Advising: Offer academic advising and support to students, assisting them in their professional and academic development.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students.
- Community: Participate in the program governance committees, orientation, admissions interviews, faculty meetings
Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. in developmental psychology or those holding another doctoral degree and who can demonstrate expertise (research, publications, presentations, organizational involvement) in the area of cognition and emotion psychology.
- Experience: Success in teaching at the graduate level.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Commitment: Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
